Day 21 Sep 19: The End

's Ochtends ben ik nog eens in het winkeltje van het hotel gaan kijken of ik echt niks leuks kon vinden, maar de souveniers stonden me niet aan dit bezoek. Natuurlijk moest ik geen rommel kopen, omdat ik mijn appartement aan het leegmaken ben, maar een t-shirt komt altijd van pas. Maar waarom ze tegenwoordig op elk t-shirt pareltjes, glitters en allerlei tralala moeten plakken, ik weet het niet. Heel even had ik zin om terug naar België te gaan, maar wanneer bleek dat het merendeel van de vlucht van Washington naar Brussel vol zagende en klagende Belgen zat, was de zin al meteen over.
Besluit Disney: dit was de minst leuke trip naar Orlando tot nu toe. Reden: het wordt alsmaar drukker en dan vooral in de restaurants. Vooral het restaurant in het hotel kon de drukte echt niet aan. Reden hiervoor is natuurlijk de promotie van free dining (ik kreeg 3 gratis maaltijden per dag). Maar ik had de indruk dat ze wat teveel van de promotie verkocht hadden. Verder vond ik de bezoekers een stuk onvriendelijker dan anders. Dit kan liggen aan het feit dat naar mijn gevoel de helft latino's waren. No offence, maar die mensen (of toch tenminste diegene die ik in Florida ontmoet heb) zijn gewoon niet zo respectvol en attentvol als de Amerikanen. Zo hield ik eens een deur open voor een latino die een dienblad in zijn handen had. Geen dank u, geen lach, niks. Qua pin trading trok het ook op niet veel, overal dezelfde pins te zien. Gelukkig vond ik de cast members in het algemeen vriendelijker dan ooit tevoren en staat Disney nog altijd garant voor kwaliteit. Ik was dan ook blij met de keuze om de vakantie daar af te sluiten.

In the morning I checked out the hotel shop to see if I really couldn't find anything, but I just didn't like the souvenirs this visit. Ofcourse I didn't need any junk, because I'm emptying my appartment, but I can always use a t-shirt. But why do they have to stick pearls, glitters etc to every t-shirt nowadays, I don't know. For a brief moment I felt like returning to Belgium, but when my plane from Washington to Brussels was filled with nagging and complaining Belgians, that mood was over instantly.
Conclusion Disney: this was the least fun trip to Orlando so far. Reason: it keeps getting busier and busier, mostly in the restaurants. Especially the restaurant in the hotel just couldn't cope with the crowds. Reason is ofcourse the free dining promotion (I got 3 meals a day for free). But I had the impression they sold a bit too much of the promotion. Other than that I found the public much less friendly then usually. It may be because half were latino's, or so it felt that way. No offence, but those people (at least those that I encountered in Florida) are just not as respectful and thoughtful as the Americans. I once held a door open for a latino who was carrying a plate. No thank you, no smile, nothing. Pin trading was dissapointing too, same pins everywhere. Luckily I found the cast members in general friendlier than ever before and Disney still guaranties quality. So I was happy to end my holiday there.
