At night I woke up a few times because of a bus company underneath my window and the metro which is called the Ligh Rail in Denver. I had to leave my windows open, because at that time it was 30 degrees celcius during the day and the hostel didn't have airconditioning. But other than that I slept well. Talking about temperatures: from one day to another it could get 10 degrees warmer or colder (same goes for Cheyenne). I had temperatures from 13 to 30 degrees! To start the day I went to 16th Street Mall, a street with shops, restaurants and so on. I had breakfast at Einstein Bros bagels, where they had such a large choice of bagels, I've never seen that before. Just take a look at the picture.
I walked along 16th Street Mall to explore it. You can't drive your car here. They do have very regular busses.
After that I went to Civic Center Park for the 'Taste of Colorado'. This is an event they have each year during Labor Day Weekend (Labor Day is the first Monday of September). They had loads of stands with food, drinks, merchandise, publicity, fairground attractions and concerts. Sometimes you got something for free, but for most stuff you had to pay with tickets. Everything was local (from Colorado). They even served buffalo and alligator, but I wasn't in a curious mood, so I just sticked to corn. It was very busy here! The park is situated between the City/County Building (the white building on the background of some of the pictures) and the Colorado State Capitol. More about that later.
At night I went back to 16th Street Mall for another walk and I went to Hard Rock Café. I didn't like the service or food much, the atmosphere was good though.
