Na zo'n 13 jaar fan zijn, kon ik eindelijk (kwamen zij naar België, zat ik in de VS, ging ik naar Las Vegas en traden ze daar op, liep ik ze nog mis met een dag, en zo verder) een concert van Bon Jovi bijwonen. Dankzij Monica die ervoor speciaal uit Spanje kwam, werd het nog extra leuk. Natuurlijk vond ik het concert heel goed, maar er waren wat minpunten. Ik had de indruk dat het voor hen 'snel even optreden en dan wegwezen' was. Niks hallo, geen bisnummer, geen pauze. Maar ik begrijp het wel: ik ben na 6 maanden een job al beu :o) 'Always' en 'Bed of Roses' ontbraken ook. En dan het publiek.... We hadden de goedkoopste plaatsen (zitplaatsen) gekocht, want ik kende het Koning Boudewijnstadion niet en dacht ook dat mensen die de duurste plaatsen (staanplaatsen) kochten daar al van 's ochtends vroeg zouden staan. Er waren inderdaad een paar mensen die dit gedaan hebben, maar dat waren er echt weinig. Het concert was ook niet uitverkocht. Toen Bon Jovi opkwam, stonden wij recht en vonden de mensen achter ons dat lastig. Er waren dus effectief veel mensen die een heel concert lang zijn blijven zitten. Alsof we naar een opera aan het zien waren of zo. En mensen die tussendoor wat gingen kopen of eten/drinken halen. Vreemd. Verder was de verkoop van merchandise slecht georganiseerd, maar we zijn allebei toch tevreden naar huis gegaan met elk een t-shirt. Conclusie: ik hoop zeker nog veel concerten van Bon Jovi te mogen bijwonen, maar dat zullen dan toch zeker staanplaatsen worden.
After being a fan for 13 years, I was finally able to attend a concert of Bon Jovi (when they came to Belgium, I was in the US and when I went to Las Vegas where they had a concert, I still missed them by a day etc). Thanks to Monica, who came from Spain especially for the concert, it became even more fun. Of course I liked the concert a lot, but there were some disappointments. I had the impression they thought 'lets quickly do this and then get out of here'. No hello, no bis, no break. But I understand, I get tired of a job after 6 months :o) 'Always' and Bed of Roses' were missing. And then the public... We had bought the cheapest tickets (seating), because I didn't know the stadium and I figured people who bought the most expensive tickets (standing) would arrive there early in the morning. There were a few who did, but very little. The concert wasn't sold out either. When Bon Jovi started, we stood up and the people behind us didn't like that. There were plenty of people who actually stayed seated during the whole concert. Like we were watching an opera or something. And people who went to buy some souvenir or drink or food during the concert. Weird. Other than that the merchandise was badly organised, but in the end we did go home satisfied and with each our own t-shirt. Conclusion: I certainly hope I can attend many more concerts, but that will definitely be standing.
